Buy Zinc, Zirconium, Zinc Oxide
Unless otherwise noted, all chemicals come packed in a twist-tied plastic bag in a sealed, reusable plastic tub. Some, very light-weight, high-volume chemicals (like air float charcoal, lampblack, and Cab-O-Sil) are packed in boxes instead of tubs. Each container is labeled and contains a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for that chemical. The chemicals we supply are generally technical grade, sometimes better. Technical grade is generally defined as "chemicals of reasonable purity".

Zinc Oxide
[ZnO] White powder
Used as a white pigment in paints. It is also used in coatings for paper. Because it absorbs ultraviolet light, zinc oxide can be used in ointments, creams, and lotions to protect against sunburn. It imparts a unique combination of properties when used in glass, such as high brilliance and luster and high stability against deformation under stress. It is added to fungicides to increase their effectiveness in specific applications. It is also used in Zinc-Carbon dry cells, Zinc-Silver Oxide batteries, Nickel Oxide-Cadmium batteries and even in secondary batteries. It is also an important ingredient in the commercial manufacture of rubber goods.

It is often alloyed with other metals, e.g., aluminium, copper, titanium and magnesium, to impart a variety of properties and mainly used for casting and for wrought applications. Further important applications are in dye-casting, and the construction industry. Zinc dust is a widely used catalyst; it is also used as a reducing and precipitating agent in organic and analytical chemistry. Inorganic zinc compounds have various applications, e.g., for automotive equipment, storage and dry-cell batteries and organ pipes.
